Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet in Corvallis |

SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet on April 16-17 in Corvallis to adopt 2009 fishing regulations for several marine fisheries and management plans for three state wildlife areas. Thursday includes a tour of the Haggerty Wetland Project, Thompson’s Mills and the Oregon Hatchery Research Center. The public is invited to join Commission members on the tour, but must use their own transportation. To join the tour, meet at 7:45 a.m. at the Salbasgeon Suites and Conference Center, 1730 NW 9th St. in Corvallis. |

ODFW to host youth angling event at St. Louis Ponds |

SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife invites young anglers to take part in its Youth Angling Enhancement Program Saturday, April 11 at St. Louis Ponds from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and ODFW staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist youngsters who want to learn how to fish. ODFW will stock the ponds with more than 1,300 rainbow trout, including more than 300 fish weighing 1-4 pounds. For added excitement, one extra large trout, a 20-pound fish from ODFW’s Roaring River Hatchery brood stock, will also be released. |
